Hiper IoT Light DL115 RGB Tape Review for Home

Soon the new year and the soul requires a festive mood. Little by little, New Year’s toys and artificial Christmas trees are taken from the mezzanines and balconies, as well as gifts are bought for the upcoming holiday. But in addition to the festive mood and decorating the Christmas tree, I also want to decorate the room with a garland, and even better with a smart RGB tape to control it right from the sofa. For myself, I chose the HIPER IoT Light DL115 RGB tape, since I already have products from this company and have a positive experience of use.

Packaging and equipment
The HIPER IoT Light DL115 tape comes in a carton box. If you have previously bought HIPER products for a smart home, then the packaging design will be familiar to you. On the front side there is an image of the ribbon and key features are indicated. One of the side faces indicates compatibility with voice assistants. The reverse side of the package contains technical and transport information, as well as a QR code for downloading the tape management application on a smartphone.

Inside the tape is in a ziplock, which is very nice. The tape itself is wound on a reel. We will get acquainted with it in more detail a little later. Separately, there is a power supply for a 220V outlet and a controller for controlling the HIPER IoT Light DL115.

Appearance and connection
HIPER IoT Light DL115 is an RGB strip in which the color of the LEDs changes simultaneously throughout the strip, and not each LED individually. To fix the tape on the surface, 3M adhesive tape is provided on the reverse side.

On the front side, the components of the tape are protected according to the IP 65 standard. In the domestic environment, this protection standard provides protection against ingress of drops and water jets. How bright the tape can be understood by the number of LEDs per 1 meter, in this tape there are 3 LEDs per 10 centimeters, therefore, there are 30 LEDs in one meter.

Standard size RGB LED 5050, square shape and size 5x5x1.6 mm. This LED consists of red, green, blue colors, as well as white cold and warm glow. This is indicated by the RGBWW marking — Red, Green, Blue, Warm White + White.

To connect the tape, a cable with 6 wires is used. Controlled by HIPER IoT Light DL115 through a controller whose switch module is Wb3s.

The whole thing is powered by the following type of charging unit.

User Experience and Conclusion
I will not describe the connection steps, everything is intuitive and clear. From myself, I note that for the first launch you will need a home network with WI-FI 2.4 GHz and a smartphone for downloading the application and settings.

A wide range of colors and the ability to change even the shade allow you to set the color of your room to suit any mood. Whether it’s a romantic evening with soft muted tones, a disco with bright tints, or just soft lighting for a cozy home evening. Without turning on a large chandelier, you can leave only the tape, specifying the turn-off time and boldly bury your head in your favorite book, and then fall asleep — the smart home will turn off the tape at the specified time. This New Year, the window will be decorated with a garland, as always, but the apartment will be illuminated with a ribbon, which will create an even more cozy fairy-tale atmosphere for a little daughter.
